Oie...use the old way...use a different color paint to color the background then.

I used to do that a lot until I used another way to do lineart.

I am not as great as you and many other who draw human shinigami though...since I can't deal with Ryuk. Not a bit. Haven't got an idea...perhaps I should try to draw them in a more comical way.

The explaination can be hard...

There's the "selection tool" right? You can use that to select the background, then just delete it.

Magic wand is recommended if the background's color is really different from the things you want to leave in the picture.
